A Georgian Renovation

March 14, 2017

I often get asked about my own home and up until recently it’s been very much a work in progress!  It still isn’t finished (will it ever be??) but there are some areas at least where I can see end results. Starting a new series of posts here, I will be sharing progress and would love to know what you think!

New Wallpaper Collection

February 4, 2017
Tropical Leaf Wallpaper

One of the best things about this job is the buzz of coming across a product or collection which really stands out from the crowd and our new Wallpaper Collection definitely fits the bill.  With over 100 designs to lust after it must surely have something for every taste! Uniquely it comes from Transylvania and is the work of design studio ‘Mind The Gap’.

Looking ahead – Trends for 2017

January 15, 2017

Since returning from the festivities we’ve been pouring over all the gorgeous new product launches and finalising our collections for the Spring Summer season ahead.  This week kicks off the trade fairs in London and Paris where we get to see it all in the flesh and I’m particularly excited by the trends for luxurious finishes, sumptuous fabrics and laid back living.

Happy New Year

December 30, 2016

Happy New Year to you!! Having finally managed to escape from the craziness that is life in retail at Christmas (which we wouldn’t change for the world of course!), I am lucky enough to be spending the New Year with my family tucked away in a lovely friend’s cottage in the Dordogne. With the region predominantly closed for the winter, this trip has become one of bracing country walks and a theme of indoor coziness, huddling around a roaring fire and generally eating too much! Perfect!

First look at Christmas

Christmas Design Vintage

Although we don’t put our Christmas loveliness into stores until November arrives, we do now have the first arrivals from our festive collection online.  As always we’ve been collating and photographing the collection since early Summer (it’s a crazy job at times!) so it is with great excitement that I can share some of it with you now.   Continue Reading

Autumn Collection

September 27, 2016
Juno Coffee Tables

One of the best parts of this job is unpacking the gorgeous new arrivals every season and this month has been no exception.  Our collection for Autumn sees lots of brand new products including furniture as well as accessories.  Plenty of supersoft throws, cushions and rugs to cosy up with, my favourite of which have to be our bestselling Kuba Berber Rugs which we now have in two bigger sizes.  Supersoft as well as right on trend for any Scandi inspired interior, I’m coveting one for in front of the fireplace – all I need to do now is persuade the puppy not to eat it (any tips most welcome!)

Original Hungarian Vintage Furniture

September 27, 2016

I often get asked about the origins of our Hungarian Furniture and our relationship with our lovely suppliers.  We have been lucky enough to be working with the same family in Hungary now for some years.  A traditional operation, they source our pieces from local village stores, pharmacy’s, homes and event convents in mainly rural areas.  The majority date back to the late 1800’s and early 1900’s up to the 1930’s.  During this period this style of furniture was very common – every village had a village shop and every shop would be fitted out with wooden cabinets.  In later years these would be replaced with modern shop fit outs so there is a good supply of these original pieces to be found.  Employing only expert craftsmen and using traditional methods the family business restores each piece lovingly for us including painting to our specification.  We think the results are beautiful and quite unique.
